TikTok, WhatsApp, Instagram, Rubiales, bullying, suicide, limits, reggaeton.

I’ve had several conversations lately with (male and female) friends, parents, about kids and men and women and technology and culture and limits in 2023. It all appears to be in a state of flux, both for adults and for teenagers. I don’t know if this is happening in the country you are reading from.

Newly teenage girls just starting at high school and already posting pictures of themselves in not much clothing on Instagram or TikTok for their friends…but of course the boys end up seeing them too; newly teenage lads using IA to do deepfake porn photos with fake bodies of their female friends with the real faces grabbed off Instagram or TikTok, reportedly in several towns in Spain; then more serious things like grooming, threats and violent porn images in other teenage WhatsApp groups; and finally the most serious cases when you end up with groups of teenage lads arrested for raping a teenage girl or some other serious form of actual sexual assault.
