NOTES
—Yesterday was Constitution Day. Perhaps most notable was the rejection from Vox, which to date had always presented itself as a constitutionalist party. "Spain comes before and is superior to the Constitution", Abascal tweeted: "and it will continue to exist after this Constitution, which we must respect, and those that come after". A few days ago, Trump said the US Constitution should be terminated. Today, German Police have arrested 25 “enemies of democracy” for planning a coup against the state there.
—Esquerra will table an amendment to modify the crime of the misuse of public funds. A matter of "days or hours" away, their spokeswoman told Europa Press. The separatists want to shield the Catalan independence movement but it would be useful for other politicians in other parties...
—The Regional High Court in Andalusia confirmed to me that the former PSOE first minister there, Griñán, sentenced to several years in jail for the misuse of public funds…has not yet gone to jail. The 10-day period a court in Seville gave him a month ago to hand himself in has not yet started to run down because they filed appeals that are still pending a response from the prosecution and ruling by the judges.
—"With the pardons, sedition and the misuse of public funds, the government has reversed the defeat of Catalan separatism in October 2017", says an editorial in ABC: "and grants them a criminal pass for new attempts at sedition, in exchange for a few more months in power for Sánchez”.
—Feijóo says Ciudadanos should get on with disappearing: "in the most dignified way possible", if they could manage that, and while joining the PP. Could he sign up Arrimadas herself, or Villacís, the Deputy Mayor of Madrid?
—Train crash in Catalonia: two suburban commuter trains, carrying 1,300 people, collided this morning, resulting in 155 minor injuries.
—28 people fled from a Casablanca-Istanbul flight in Barcelona. A woman supposedly went into labor and the other people made the most of the opportunity to run off. Half have been intercepted by the Police.
