🧑🤝🧑 During the pandemic, lots of subscribers wanted to be in the Whatsapp groups but on top of reporting and writing everything, it was chaos trying to add everyone and keep up with who was subscribed properly and there was no group chat.
Substack just gave us a new feature that probably fixes all that: chat
Here it is (get the phone app first)
🗨️ Will probably mostly use this for paid subscribers, a daily open chat so we can talk about everything and you can reach out and say hi during the day about one topic or another, but I’ll leave these first ones open so we can all play with it a bit. Another option is to have one chat thread per article or even per story, like Twitter, but that could get messy.
💡 I’m sure it will also be a useful sounding board for me for reporting or articles or trends over time too, with my core group of subscribers, a kind of reader editorial board, and of course you will be able to add your ideas. If you have already subscribed, there’s a little test thread in there for you to try.
