The Popular Party is still trying to decide what it wants to be ideologically at the national level. Last night, after previously stating she would never do a deal with chauvinist, racist Vox in Extremadura, the PP leader there, María Guardiola, gave another interview to another media outlet and promised there were no red lines against the far-right.

The previous night’s statement had sounded like a big, thick red line to me, with a brand new, extra large felt-tip pen. Newspaper columnists and radio talking heads are now wondering out loud what Feijóo’s Popular Party really is and what effect it will have on the vote on the right in July if he doesn’t clear up the confusion quickly. While they do that, and while we’re on the colour red, let’s take a look at the latest Socialist Party election stunt.
