Amnesty bill text published. Supreme Court demands respect for separation of powers. ABC: "We must not". Vox overjoyed at Carlson appearance in Madrid.
1/ The text of the amnesty bill was published (summary in English here). An enormous get-out-of-jail-free card for Puigdemont and the Catalan separatists.
2/ The Supreme Court issued an extraordinary statement on the matter, demanding “absolute respect for the separation of powers” in Spain.
3/ ABC published a full-page all text editorial message on its front page against the amnesty deal with Puigdemont: "We must not", reads the headline.
4/ El Mundo: "Sánchez wipes the Catalan independence crisis from History so that Puigdemont can come back a free man".
5/ The Civil Guard is investigating officers belonging to a police association who issued a statement the other day saying they were ready to “spill blood” to defend the Constitution.
6/ US alt-right talking head Tucker Carlson turned up in Madrid, smiling alongside Vox leader Abascal at the 11th night of protests outside Socialist Party HQ.
7/ There were no arrests or injuries and it was a smaller protest last night.
8/Carlson said he had travelled to Spain because "the world isn't seeing it enough and that's why we wanted to come, because it's not getting the coverage it deserves […] Anybody who would violate your Constitution, potentially use physical violence, to end democracy, is a tyrant, is a dictator".
9/ The group linked to Vox that has been pushing the protests for the past 10 days, Revuelta, and Vox MEP Tertsch, were overjoyed Tucker was there.
10/ Two Spanish government ministers, Belarra (Social Rights, Sumar, Podemos) and Montero (Equality, Sumar, Podemos) have signed a petition seeking an ICC investigation of Netanyahu, Gallant et al. for genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Corbyn (UK) has also signed.
11/ “We are witnessing a live genocide by the State of Israel in Palestine, and I don't want to be an accomplice”, said Belarra: “Today it's Palestine, tomorrow it could be anyone”.
