Vox leader Santiago Abascal has suddenly appeared in Israel, along with Vox MEP Hermann Tertsch and a small group of others. They have met a couple of Israeli government ministers, Amijai Chikli, the Diaspora & Anti-semitism Minister, and Avi Dicter, the Agriculture Minister, who is also a former head of Shin Bet, Israel’s domestic intelligence service; both ministers members of the ruling conservative Likud party. The PR photos show Abascal wandering around a destroyed room at the Nir Oz kibbutz wearing a flack jacket and holding a helmet.
In the tweet statements accompanying the PR photos, Abascal sides fully with Israel: “Finishing off Hamas”, he writes: “which embodies absolute evil, is a moral imperative. The government of Israel has our full support, affection and understanding”. He then preoceeds to slam his own prime minister back home: “The illegal socialist government and Sánchez must apologise to the victims and the Israeli people for questioning the legitimate response of a democratic state to the murderers who kill, torture and behead civilians in their homes; who rape and kidnap women; who kidnap children and the elderly; and who use their own civilian population as human shields”.
